| Be alert for Automotive EV Explosions. For example, explosions have occured when EV's are parked in a garage at home. The cause is usually a flaw in the battery design. What happens is that the cell has a short-circuit to another cell, and heat is generated. which then starts generating heat. A gas is created by heat in the cell that causes the liquid electrolyte to evaporate, which creates a gas in the cell. When the heat gets hot enough, it catches fire, explodes, and then spreads to other cells. |
